Moishe House (Seperate from PJE)

Directions: 6217 SW 33rd Pl; Portland, OR 97239.  From Vermont St., turn onto 34th heading north; bare to the right on 33rd Pl (which is not well marked) and we’re down the hill on the left, after about 10 houses.

What is it?  Check out The Moishe House website (http://www.moishehouse.org), for more information.

It is a house that was founded by Jodi Berris and Steve Bloom (who had taken the concept to Jodi) in Sept. 2007. It opened its doors Jan. 1, 2008 with its first residents Jodi Berris, Matt Peterson, and Jeremy Rogers.

Basically, though, it's where Jodi Berris, Jeremy Rogers, Rachel House, and Becca Cigan currently live, and a house from which many events are planned for the 20s/30s crowd.  There are events for other ages too.  Events include parties, Shabbat dinners, sports leagues, Poker Nights, and Judaic/Hebrew studies, some of which are co-sponsored by Portland Jewish Events (has been around since May, 2005 and was started by Jodi Berris).  Feel free to contact us anytime, whether you’ve lived in Portland for a while, you just moved here, or are thinking about visiting.  If you need a place to stay during your visit, let us know that too.
