Jewish Coed Dodgeball
& Drinks League
It’s playoffs time!
Wishing all the teams luck…who are hoping to win the boobie
prizes!

General Information:
The balls will
start flying on November 8th.
Games will run from
We’ll play on
Nov. 8, 15, 29, and Dec. 6. The playoff
date is TBD…as the gym is rented on Dec. 13th. Pencil in Dec. 20th, for now, and
we’ll discuss the first night of games.
You must be registered to play (you can’t bring your friends last
minute, if a teammate can’t make it that night) and this must be done by
October 31, so that I have time to organize the teams. So far, we have Team “Intel,” Team “Nike,”
and Team “Random People Who Don’t know Anyone Else
Playing.”
I highly
recommend players arrive by
League Rules:
1. All members of team should
wear the same color t shirt or something that basically matches that will set
your team apart from other teams.
2. Each team should have a
captain.
3. Games will have a time
limit (time to be TBD). If you finish
your game before the time is up, start up a second game with the same
opponent.
4. Game balls will be
provided. 6 balls are used per game and
will be placed on the center line when the game starts.
5. Starting the game: All players line up against the wall on their respective sides. When the whistle is blown, players can rush
to the center line to grab the free balls.
6. Playing: the goal is to
knock out/eliminate players on the opposite team.
7. Elimination is done by
throwing the ball and hitting a player on the opposite team on the shoulders or
below (no head shots), before the ball hits the ground. A ball that has hit the ground first is
considered a dead ball. If you are hit
by a dead ball, you are not out.
8. You can also get someone
out by catching an airborne ball that someone from the opposing team threw.
9. When a player is out,
he/she goes to the sideline.
10. A player on the sideline in “out” status can
return to the game if a playing teammate catches an air ball from an
opposing team throw. 1 catch equals 1 credit. Players will return to the game in the order
they got knocked out. First one out who
has been waiting the longest will be the first one to return to the game.
11. Winning the game: either one team eliminates
all players from the other team or when the time limit is reached, the team
with more players on the court will win.
12. Games will be self refereed, so please be
honest when you get knocked out.
13. Teams can have a maximum of 10 players and
anyone that shows up from that team can play, even if that means that one team
has 7 players and the other has 9. The
purpose of this is because no one ever wants to sit on the sidelines as a sub,
especially if they are paying to play and also, it is a way to encourage your
teammates to show up so that you have a full squad.
14. Coed games mean that teams are coed and should
have at least 1 male and 1 female. After
that, it doesn’t matter. There are no
rules as to how many men or women need to be on a team or on the court at the
start of the game.
15. Trash talking (in good spirit) is totally
legal.
16. Have fun!
This was set up so that we would all have some fun competition and
socialization, the Old Skool way.
17. If we need to make a rule modification, we’ll
change it and let teams know of the change in advance.
